A Real Mental Health Day

Today, I gave myself permission to pause—no meetings, no deadlines, no pretending I had the energy to push through. I slipped into my muumuu, made bacon and eggs, and let the house stay quiet for once.
While the bacon sizzled, I smiled thinking about how even the smallest gestures can carry love. I tore off a couple of crispy pieces for the dog—because he deserves joy too—and opened my laptop to order matching Christmas pajamas for me, Sahara, and King. A simple thing, but something about it felt sacred—like wrapping our little family in soft, cheerful unity after such a long, hard year.
I even ordered King a few extra pairs of Christmas pajamas so he can stay cozy and festive all season long at home. And since he loves getting into the holiday spirit, I added a few Christmas long-sleeve t-shirts for him to wear to school too.
When I saw Sahara getting ready for work, I handed her my car keys and told her to drive instead of taking public transit. She’d spent the night, and I wanted her day to start easy—the way I wish mine had started when I was her age.
After she left, I surprised her with $30 in Apple Cash and told her to grab a burger from that little spot her dad used to love. We may be divorced, but I’m not divorced from kindness, from memories, or from wanting my daughter to smile.
So, yeah. Today, I didn’t meditate or go to the spa or journal for hours. I just breathed. Cooked. Gave. Remembered. That’s what real healing looks like sometimes—quiet, unhurried, and full of heart.
Because Rich Energy isn’t just wealth or success. It’s bacon on the stove, pajamas in the mail, and peace in your spirit. 🌿
